Elke dag probeert het Agentschap Onroerend Efgoed zorg te dragen voor ons erfgoed. Om deze taak ze goed mogelijk te kunnen uitvoeren, maar het Agentschap zo veel mogelijk gebruik van moderne technologie. Elke dag bouwen we nieuwe informatiesystemen om aan alle mogelijke noden tegemoet te komen. Centraal hierbij staat een goed onderbouwde resource-oriented architecture met een sterke geografische component, opgebouwd met open source software. Maar uiteindelijk zijn we overtuigd dat onze informatiesystemen van een voorbijgaande aard zijn. Onze data mag dat echter niet zijn. Daarom dat we sterk investeren in kwalitatieve Linked Open Data.
Op deze blog kan je meer lezen over onze informatiesystemen, de technieken en software die we gebruiken om ze op te bouwen en te ontsluiten. Welke services we aanbieden, hoe je ze kunt gebruiken en waar je meer informatie kunt vinden. Deze blog gaat echter niet over het erfgoed zelf, het erfgoedbeleid of het erfgoeddecreet. 06 november - Atramhasis v0.7.0 released
A new version (0.7.0) of Atramhasis has been released. Atramhasis is an open-source, web-based SKOS editor. You can use it to browse SKOS vocabularies, thesauri, authority files, word lists, … Atramhasis comes with an admin interface you can use to add the concepts and collections of your vocabularies. To make integrating vocabularies with your other IT systems easy, all data in Atramhasis is exposed through a read an write REST webservice.
31 januari - Ook een webpagina kan verhuizen
We staan er misschien niet altijd bij stil, maar ook webpagina’s verhuizen. Websites, databanken en andere informatiesystemen zijn geen statische gegevens. Ze worden gebouwd op een bepaald punt in de tijd, met bepaalde verwachtingen en in een bepaalde technologie. In een ideale wereld is een URL (dat ding dat in de adresbalk van je browser staat en aangeeft op welke pagina je bent) onveranderlijk. Cool URI’s don’t change, weet u wel. In de echte wereld blijft niets ooit helemaal hetzelfde. Cool URI’s don’t change, real ones do. Deal with it. (Voor deze blog mag u URI en URL als synoniemen beschouwen.)
30 december - We are the Hypermedia!
Within the Flemish Government, there is a central governing body that coordinates matters on Information and ICT policies. Under the umbrella of this body, several taskforces exist, one of them being the OSLO Datastandards taskforce. This taskforce creates standards, semantic models and tooling for Flemish government agencies and other connected partners. One of the projects that ran in 2018, was the creation of a Generic Hypermedia API standard, a set of guidelines and building blocks that aim to transform REST services into more Hypermedia driven services. This would make them more interoperable. The first version of this standard was approved on november 8, 2018 and contains three building blocks: language, CRUD and pagination.

Flanders Heritage has had a geoportal since 2013. Although it has grown and transformed over the years, the basic goals and the architectural design have remained largely unchanged.
20 november - Welcome to the Ilucidare Playground
Flanders Heritage Agency is a government agency and scientific institution. We are responsible for architectural, archaeological, landscape and maritime heritage. Today we are present at the Ilucidare Playground: Cracking the future of heritage. We assimilate innovation to improve the preservation of heritage, to enhance decision-making, to support the management or to provide information to a broad public. To this end, we are mixing new technologies or new paradigms with our care and responsabilities for heritage. Today we focus on a few tangible results of this innovation driven approach that demonstrate how well heritage, technology and digitisation match.
